A lovely shop for handmade journals... a photo shoot in a Belgrano dance studio... Public art, Plaza San Martin... Faber Castell seems to have a monopoly on art supplies here.... More public art...
Public art is mostly seen in Recoleta and Palermo. Did you know that the name "Recoleta" comes from an old Spanish word meaning "to remember."? Its history dates to the late colonial period and the establishment of a convent where Recoleta Cemetery, Evita's final resting place, now sits. Once on the edge of Buenos Aires, Recoleta is now one of its most exclusive shopping and residential neighborhoods. Marble buildings reminiscent of Paris and green leafy streets make up the main impression of this area. The apartment rental in Buenos Aires I got when I was in Argentina was here so I was always shopping and checking out the lastest trends! Kirsten
A weekly weblog featuring my sketches, illustrations, various ramblings and works in progress. (Note - if you're looking for the previous incarnation of this blog which featured more personal posts--especially if you're one of my longtime blog friends!!!-send me an email and I'll give you the link. Sorry, it's by invitation only.)
I would love to travel this place to spend holidays this coming Christmas!
